In memory's gentle embrace we find,
A life well-lived, a soul refined,
Douglas Gilling, a century's bloom,
A tapestry rich, in every room.
An architect's vision, so skillfully drawn,
Structures of beauty, at dusk and at dawn,
From blueprints to reality, he'd command,
A symphony of structures, across the land.
Photographer's lens, capturing light,
Moments preserved, in black and white,
Through his eyes, the world anew,
A kaleidoscope of memories, vibrant and true.
At a hundred and one, nearly two,
A he journeyed on,
Leaving footprints of legacy, brightly drawn,
In the hearts of those who were touched by his art,
Douglas Gilling, forever a part.
As stars now gather, in the cosmic sky,
His spirit takes flight, like a butterfly,
Fond memories linger, love never ends,
Douglas, the architect of lives, a good friend.
