MENU

                Menu.

I'll
have a
 dollop
 of kindness
served up
with a slice of hope.

With
 lashings
 of memorable
 cuddles,
a spoonful of smiles for my scope.

Give
 me
 sunbeams
to mix with
my coffee,
and painting to spread on my toast.

Scramble my daydreams,
sprinkled with music.
Invite possums in for a roast.

 ” never let the truth
stand in the way of
a good story”.

THE BOX

THE BOX

It
came
today,
as foretold.
Placed by the front door.
Came by special delivery,
sitting in state on the leaf-littered verandah.
Joy dallied around its edges and capered around cardboard hide.
Covered with illegible letters, it had come from the other side.

Drag it in, drag it in, do not fear it.
It’s a gift, a carrier of light,
to be nurtured and cherished,
to be studied and pondered,
it is
to be a delight!

Cut the straps that bind its tight folds,
unwrap
the inside tissue.
Lift
ten white canvases
now ‘out of the box’.
A wonderful, brand new issue.

Wow!
Behold,
In mind’s eye,
vistas
to
paint.
and colours
to flow.

Ah!
No.
Wait till
Tomorrow.
